GAINESVILLE, Fla., April 28, 2021– After another successful year of growth, Heatherwood Construction Company was named to the University of Florida’s prestigious 2021 Gator100 list during a special virtual ceremony on April 23. Heatherwood ranked no. 52 out of 100 companies.
The Gator100 recognizes the world’s fastest-growing businesses owned or led by UF alumni. Florida’s Alumni Association has been presenting this award for six years to not only honor Gator-owned companies, but to inspire fellow UF students and alumni.
The Gator100’s ranking is based on each company’s compound annual growth rate (CAGR) over the past three years. Heatherwood Construction Company’s CAGR was an impressive 38.20 percent based on calculations by Ernst & Young.
Heatherwood Construction Company is a full-service pre- and post-construction commercial general contractor based in Bonita Springs. The 40-year-old company operates in Southwest Florida, from Tampa to Marco Island and specializes in commercial, industrial and residential building projects.
Heatherwood President and CEO Walter Crawford is a proud alumnus from the class of 1989 and graduated from the M.E. Gator100 Qualifications
To qualify for the Gator100, companies must have been in business for five or more years as of Oct. 30, 2020, and have had verifiable annual revenues of $250,000 or more every year since 2017. Additionally, a UF alumnus or alumna must have met one of the following three leadership criteria:
- Owned 50 percent or more of the company from Jan. 1, 2017, through Oct. 30, 2020; or
- Served as the company’s chief executive from Jan. 1, 2017, through Oct. 30, 2020.
- Founded the company and been active as a member of the most senior management team from Jan. 1, 2017, through Oct. 30, 2020.
